Our caviary (hippo sanctuary) is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  We used to breed quality skinny pigs with careful consideration as each little house hippo is special to us! But these days we just love who we have. We're finding that there are just too many little critters out there already needing fabulous homes so we've become a skinny pig sanctuary instead.

Guinea pigs, hair or no hair, are the best little guys to have as companions.  They stay where you put them (i.e. in their enclosure) so they're not chewing furniture. haha.  Are very inexpensive and low maintenance (....other than beware they are little poop factories.....).  I adopted my first guinea pig as soon as I left home at 18 and moved into my own apartment that "allowed no pets"; no one the wiser.  These days guinea pig keeping is even easier and more fun now that the trend has switched to fleece and with the help of www.guineapigcagesstore.com and www.guineapigmarket.com.  See RECOMMENDED LINKS.  Honestly, who can resist a herd!
